“If You Knew How Institutional Investors Actually Assess Company Websites, Yours Would Look… A Lot Different” was easily the most well-attended of my firm’s webinar series. With scores of emails from CEOs, CFOs, investors, and investor relations firms, it was also the most interactive.
Though it’s rarely discussed in the light of day, an inordinate number of small-cap investor meetings are over long before they start… because of websites that get failing grades. As I discussed during this webinar, it’s hard to overstate how many times when I was an institutional investor I consciously desisted from investing in a small-cap company because of its website.
During the webinar, I was glad to be able to discuss many of the great CEO questions I received. As you watch the webinar for the first time or continue to think about these issues, please let me know your thoughts and questions. I plan on a follow-up piece just to discuss ideas and comments from officers, directors, and service providers.
One CEO had a great idea: “Adam, could you create a cheat sheet for top-of-mind website issues (from a buy-side perspective) we should be aware of during our next website redesign?”
And we've delivered with this checklist. You can download it below.
